Hello. I’m Mitsu.

A Japanese film writer/director and editor based in Tokyo.

To tell unique stories and small voices, I would like to produce creative visual images and writing.

I like stories. I majored in History at Sophia University in Tokyo to understand my Japanese cultural and historical background by different perspectives.

I like travels. So, I went to the University of Washington in Seattle to study about America, even though it was supposed to study International Business. (Of course, I studied that!)

I lived in New York to explore my possibilities. During the pandemic, I came back to Japan, since I realized that I could work and make things in anywhere in the world. And it doesn’t mean I will be here forever. If I have a new opportunity or curiosity, I would love to relocate to a new place.

As a writer/director, I like to make science fiction films. When I made my first short film, I even worked with my real life doppelgänger to create a sci-fi short. Now, I have been developing my first feature.

As an editor, I’ve been working for global clients and independent filmmakers to tell their stories and voices. Actually, I have multi-tasking skills. When I edit with a Non Japanese director, I speak English and can take care of cats. That is, I am good at. (I am also good at fixing Gyoza.)
